Bare Foot Cafe Chalkboard

TERM 4 2010.
For this task, we were asked to find a local cafe and design a drinks menu on a chalkboard to meet their particular style.
First of all we had to visit the cafe, take photos, and examine the style and feel that the cafe creates. We then had to brainstorm ideas for our chalkboard thinking about fonts, colours, images etc that would be appropriate for the cafe.
For my chalkboard, I chose Bare Foot Cafe in Manly.
This cafe is quite small but very popular for their coffees and belgain chocolate.
It used the colours black, green, grey and brown. The brown was mostly the wood that was included in the chairs and the benches.
There was a pattern on the wall of spades and clovers that inspired the shape of my chalkboard.
I ended up shaping my chalkboard into a 3 leaf clover with a stem:
The font I used was simple and quite a normal size. I used the colours white and green:
Overall, my design complimented Bare foot cafe as I used a shape that was seen alot in the cafe and I used two simple colours. The green represented the green tiles placed around the cafe. If I were to place this somewhere in the cafe, I would hang it up straight, in the middle of the wall. Altogether I was happy with my results!!
