Brief:
1. Design a commemorative Factory designer mug and have it printed online at Vistaprint.2. Design, print and manufacture a package to promote your mug at the Design Factory.
Process:
Firstly we brainstormed ideas and limitations for both the mug and the package. We looked at resolution, raster and vector images to see what would look best.
We had to think of three different mug ideas to then be looked at by our principal Ms Commerford who would choose the best one to fit the design brief.Ms Commerford and I agreed to use a previous drawing I had created from my artbook. I scanned the image onto the computer and edited it through photoshop.
My main concept was growing and changing throughout school/the Design Factory.
The idea of using colours gradually was to show the growing of the person no matter who they are.
For the second part of the brief we were asked to design the packaging for our mug.We were given a template that we were to alter things into our own design.
I added a photo of myself and a brief introduction, a Stella Maris label, an explanation about the mug and its meaning and then I used part of my design and placed it on the package to create a similar theme as the mug.
I am happy with the finished design as I believe it shows a clear understanding of the factory showing creativity and growth.
